MFM HARD DRIVE EMULATION SYSTEMS - MFMR1
The MFMR1 MFM drive controller can be used to replace a variety of 5.25" MFM interface drives including Maxtor XT-1085,1140 & XT-2190, Micropolis 1325,1335, the Miniscribe 8425 amd 8438, NEC D3142, D5126, D5146, D5146H, and all Seagates series MFM interfaces from 5 ¼ half High and 5 ¼ full height disk drives of all data capacities. (We have not listed all the drives that are covered by this emulator here, please enquire if you have an MFM drive requirement not listed). Customers can now have long-term reliability, instead of using repaired or second hand product because no new MFM interface drives were available!
HIGH DATA RELIABILITY
The emulator uses SCSI-interface technology, with error correction is resolved on-the-fly inside the drive. The proprietary firmware based translation software enables fast reaction times when needed, and the SCSI drives used although having extremely long service lives are easily and cheaply replaceable, if needed.
LOWER POWER AND HEAT
The electronics used, plus the small size of the SCSI drive used equates to less power used, and less heat produced. The units are fan cooled, with new technology quality fans which are quiet, low energy and with long life characteristics.
Simple to use jumpers on the main circuit board select the number of cylinders and heads required, no other set-up is required.
Note that an emulator can be taken from one application, and then re-used on a different application by simply adjusting the jumpers, - no other modification is needed.

SCSI disk drives require less operating power. Lower power improves system reliability. Insure adequate airflow across the drive enclosure. Fan included in 5.25” full height.
